Krakatau volcano is  a small island group in the Sunda Strait between the islands of Sumatra and Java. It is one of the world's most famous volcanoes on earth. It is a mostly submerged caldera with 3 outer islands belonging to the rim and a new cone. Anak Krakatau, that has been forming a new island since 1927 and remains highly active and unique. Some scientists said that Anak Krakatau is more dangerous than Krakatau.

Krakatau volcano is popular around the world as its eruption on 1883 that killed more than 30.000 people. Since the eruption, it came out another new island in 1927 called Anak Krakatau (The child of Krakatau) which has more dangerous potential comparing its "mother". But last few years Anak Krakatau volcano is popular for trekking as long as accompanied by the rangers there.

If you like camping  near the beach, this place is recommended for you. The reasons are because this beach is close from the city center, and there are many spots we can visit like another beach and an island. This beach is a white sand beach and dominated by coconut tree along the shore. You can do snorkeling and fishing here during your camping time. In Lampung, many communities come and make camp in Ketapang beach. Visit the neighbor of Ketapang beach Mahitam island

This island is very close from Bandar lampung. It takes only 30 minutes by motorbike and 45 minutes by car. You just need to go to Sari Ringgung beach then rent a boat to go to Tegal island. You can rent the boat for whole day and visit many spots for snorkeling there. In some spots, we can see some different types of coral and clown fish. If you are lucky, you also can meet dragon fish, turtle and small shark. In the west part of the island, we also can see a sand island which sometime come up and disappear at certain time. Around this sand island, we also can do snorkeling because the corals are beautiful in this spot.

This island is located at Gebang village, Pesawaran regency, Lampung, Indonesia with population about 20 families living in this island.  They work as a fisherman and the children take study at a temporary school in this island. In west part, we can see white sand along the shore and at east part is dominated by coral.This island is not as popular as Pahawang island but they beauty of the under water is similar. Many local community come to visit this island as this island is easy to be reached.
For you are beginner is snorkeling,  you can swim in 1 or 2 meters dept area as this island has many different level for snorkeling. You also can do fishing when you do not like swimming because many people do fishing in this island. check also this

If you like trekking, you can try to climb a hill in the center of this island. Sometimes it is headt the screaming of monkeys there.

Balak Island

If you a person who likes a place which is quiet and cozy so visit this island. In this island, you can do snorkeling, fishing and more. There are so many coconut trees along the shore and you can take the young coconut if you can climb it. Note it that the young coconut is for free as long as you take it by yourself. In front of the cottage, there is an old harbor where we can sit and enjoy the sunset at the evening. Because of the distance, this island is rarely visited by people but this thing that makes this place special!

Unique and awesome are words for this island. This island is about 200 hectares and has two different types of shore. At west you can see corals dominates the shore and in another side you will find white sand beach as long as you see. The white sand seems like a long mat that invites you to lay down on it. 

Build your tent!

To reach this island is so easy but it takes a bit your time. From Bandar Lampung, you need two hours to go to Ketapang harbor, then you go to Balak island by renting a boat. You will around 2 hours on the boat sp prepare some drink and snacks with you. During this time, you can see the views of  Lampung bay and pass some popular spots. They are Mahitam island, Kelagian island, Pahawang islang and Tanjung Putus island.
Having reached the island, its better to sleep in a tent to "feel" the nature there. Balak is a word from Lampung language means big. Yes, it is because the island is quite big. If you like trekking, you can try to climb a hill which is located in the center of the island. You may see some monkeys there. When you want to enjoy the sunset, just sit on the harbor and the sunset will greet you for sure. So, enjoy the nature there guys! see this island

Kiluan bay is the most popular and touristic spot in Lampung. This beach is known nationally because one of the national magazine claimed that it is as one of heavens in Indonesia. Why it is popular? Beautiful is  the only one answer. In Kiluan bay you can have hoping in an island called Kelapa that can be reached by boat in 15 minutes. This island have very good white sand and clean water for snorkeling. During the night there will be some fishermen doing fishing near to the beach. We can also buy the fish when they just got a fish. You can make tent in this island or rent a cottage which is cheap. This island is the main destination when people visit Kiluan bay. Along the shore, we also can see the hill of Sumatra island.

In early morning, you can see many dolphins swimming around the island. But if you want to see the dolphins, you should rent a boat and go to the middle of the sea. There, you will see a thousand of dolphin are swimming closer to your boat. If you are brave enough, it is allowed for you to swim with the dolphins because they are friendly with the humans.

Kiluan bay also has a lagoon located 3 kilometers from Kiluan bay. To visit this lagoon, you should prepare extra power because you will do trekking and pass the coral rock along the beach. It takes one hour to get there even its only 3 kilometers due to the condition of the track. You must bring your own drink as you will walk near the beach and it makes you feel thirsty. When you reach the lagoon, every negative things (tired, thirsty, lazy, weak) that you have will disappear because of the beauty of the lagoon.

Kiluan Bay is located in Kelumbayan district, Tanggamus regency, Lampung. The distance from Lampung’s capital Bandar Lampung is about 92 kilometers, about 3/4 hours journey by car. You can ride a motorcycle, or drive a car such as SUV, Jeep, or Van to explor
e the location even bicycle.

When you travel to Lampung as one of your destination by land, you will see a unique tower located in Bakauheni harbor. The shape is "weird" and it has yellow as the colour. People call it Siger tower. Siger is a traditional hat worn by women when they are attending wedding party. This hat is originally from Lampung province and becomes a symbol of Lampung. Its easy to reach this tower. You just need to walk for about 15 minutes from Bakaheni harbor. Then you should pay Rp 5000 as the ticket price. You can see the view of Lampung bay from this tower.

Siger tower becomes a zero point of South part of Sumatra. People call it as a zero kilometer in south of Sumatra. This tower was announced and opened to public on April 30, 2008 by the governor of Lampung Mr. Sjahroedin. This tower is located in a hill which is close to Bakauheni harbor. The construction took  three years and covered by the local government for the financial fund. Recenly, this tower is not only the icon of Lampung but it becomes the icon of Sumatra island and it represents the variety of religions, culture, tribes and language in Sumatra. From this tower we can see all area of Lampung bay. We can also see an island called Harimau island check this out
We can see some hills that create beautiful view and some boat which through the Lampung bay. You can spend your time in the park that provided here. You can enjoy your lunch while seeing around the view. This cottage is for free for visitors.

Butterfly is a kind of insect which is liked by many people especially women. This insect has special wings which show some colors and shape. This is the main reason why many people like butterfly. In Bandar Lampung, Sumatra, Indonesia, we have a butterfly park which becomes the second biggest  butterfly park in Indonesia. This park is located at Betung mount, Tanjung Gedong village, Bandar Lampung. We call this park as Butterfly Park Gita Persada. The owner also tries to breed some species of butterfly. We can see the process in the cage which is located in the middle of the park. This butterfly park can be one of options for you or your family to visit. We can share some informations about butterfly to our children. This park also have some facilities like swinger, glider, cottage, butterfly museum, bamboo house, bamboo bridge and souvenirs about butterfly. You can also order some meals like noodle, fried rice, coffee, iced tea etc. In the cottage, there is bungalow so we can spend our time there to enjoy the situation and nature. You also can see some butterfly are flying and get closer to you.  In the museum, we can see some information about the butterfly and some decoration made from butterfly. This is a mini museum actually but give some great informations about butterfly. You will see some souvenirs which has relation with butterfly. Its like an art house. Sometime, some communities come and conduct gathering in this park.The best month to visit this park is between March to June because its the highest breeding time. When you come to Lampung as one of your trip destination, so you must visit this water fall. Lampung province has some waterfalls and one of it is this fall. This fall is very recommended as it has two different falls which show different types of waterfall. You can reach this fall via land by motorbike or car. It takes around three hours to get there. The two falls are named with the the same word, Lembah Pelangi 1 and Lembah Pelangi 2.

Lembah Pelangi taken from Bahasa Indonesia with meaning valley for lembah and rainbow for pelangi. So it means that these falls are located in a valley and the rainbow sometimes come up at these falls. The words Lembah Pelangi are given by the local government staff who discovered this fall. When they first time step in at these falls they saw rainbow. If we see in some photos of someone who already traveled here, we can see rainbow in the photos. The rainbow is created from the molecule of water blared by the sun rays. So if you want to see the rainbow, it is better to come during the mid day. Because mid day usually the sun in shinning brightly and will blare the molecule of the water and it will create a beautiful rainbow.

This waterfall is popular since 6 months ago because its pictures are spreading through social media like Facebook, Twitter, Path and Instagram. Some people already visited this fall. You need to walk for 2 kilometers from the last village to reach this fall. Because it is newly known so the access to get there is not that easy. You should bring your own meals and drink because you can not buy in during your walk. You will wall along the hill, valley and trekking the hill.
